🎨 Triple-View Illusion
This unique 3D-printable object is a perceptual puzzle and a tribute to three iconic figures of the silver screen. While it appears to be a complex, hollow cube, it hides a sophisticated optical illusion known as sculptural anamorphic projection.
The Triple-View Illusion
Unlike traditional dual-view models, this advanced structure incorporates three distinct viewing planes:
- Viewpoint 1: From the primary angle, the silhouette of James Dean appears suspended within the cube.
- Viewpoint 2: Rotating the cube 90 degrees horizontally reveals the silhouette of Marilyn Monroe.
- Viewpoint 3: From the third orthogonal axis, a third portrait becomes visible - it's Elvis.
The Engineering
The object is constructed from an intricate, open 3D lattice. By meticulously varying the thickness, angle, and density of the internal grid bars, the structure selectively blocks or permits light. This allows three separate high-contrast portraits to coexist within the same physical volume without interfering with one another.
Before you start:
- Make sure you have three black/white images..
- Make sure all images are in square-format.
- Make sure the images don't have thin lines and unconnected parts.
